Silver Springs Freshwater Research and Learning Center

This proposal is for the Florida Springs Institute’s initiative to build a Freshwater Research and Learning Center at Silver Springs State Park. The Center is comprised of an exhibition space, classrooms, a laboratory, and dormitories. The landscape design demonstrates best water management techniques and the beauty of spring flora, arranging elements to create a campus feel to the site. A runnel in the central plaza conveys water from paved areas into a series of stormwater treatment gardens. After the water is treated, it flows into a landscaped pond with a bridge and scenic overlook
